Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding guests were ‘floored’ by Adam Sandler’s surprise role during ceremony

Former NFL star Ryan Fitzpatrick has revealed how guests in attendance at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding last week were “floored” when it emerged that Adam Sandler would be officiating the ceremony.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding guests were “floored” by Adam Sandler officiating the ceremony, former NFL star Ryan Fitzpatrick has revealed.

The ex-Miami Dolphins quarterback was one of the numerous guests in attendance for the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s nuptials in Madison Square Garden last Friday (03.07.26) and reflected on the sense of surprise at the Happy Gilmore star’s role in the celebrations.

Fitzpatrick, who attended the wedding with his wife Liza, told People: “We were very excited to get the invite and very privileged to be there.

“When Adam Sandler walked out – it had everybody floored, that was really cool. The ceremony was beautiful.”

Fitzpatrick explained that his body is still trying to recover from all the dancing he did during the ceremony.

The Thursday Night Football analyst said: “There was a LOT of dancing, hours and hours, we’re still kind of recovering from being out on that dance floor for six-plus hours.”

Fitzpatrick continued: “My favourite moment was just I got to spend the night with my wife just on the dance floor, being around and being in it, so that was pretty magical for us.”

The former NFL star also confirmed the speculation that Taylor’s hit Love Story was playing as she walked down the aisle, a moment that moved him to tears.

In a separate interview with Access Hollywood, Fitzpatrick said: “Yes, and I may have cried. It was very emotional and also very fun and funny. So it had all the feels.”

The 43-year-old sports star also confirmed that Travis was more emotional than Taylor during the ceremony.

Asked if the three-time Super Bowl champion had shed a tear during the ceremony, Fitzpatrick said: “You know, it was kind of far away. It might have been sweat that got in his eyes. I’m not sure, but yeah it was kind of far away, so I can’t tell you 100 per cent.”

Meanwhile, Travis looked back on the day he proposed to the Shake It Off hitmaker as he returned to public life by releasing a new episode of his New Heights podcast alongside brother Jason Kelce on Wednesday (08.07.26).

He said: “Starting it [the podcast season] with Taylor, pretty epic. During that recording [of the episode], the entire time, I’m planning, like, I’m gonna ask this woman to marry me after this …

“[It’s] one [episode] I’ll remember forever.”
