Steps are considering a 2027 tour to mark 30 years since 5,6,7,8, but Claire Richards says the group hasn’t made a decision.
Steps are weighing up whether to embark on a 30th anniversary tour in 2027.
The pop group will celebrate three decades since the release of their debut hit 5, 6, 7, 8 in November next year.
After Spice Girls fans were left disappointed that the girl group didn’t mark their 30th anniversary with a tour this year, there is still a glimmer of hope that another ’90s group will hit the road to mark the milestone.
Claire Richards said she and her bandmates – Lee Latchford-Evans, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian “H” Watkins – are still undecided on whether they will tour in honour of the 1997 tune.
She told the Good Food podcast when asked about doing another tour: “Hopefully. It is our 30th anniversary next year, which I can’t quite believe.
“It doesn’t feel that long at all, and fingers crossed we’ll do something. We are not sure yet.”
Elsewhere, Claire revealed that she only realised more recently that she could order luxury items on their riders after years of suffering cheap plonk.
She said: “I only learned a few years ago that you can be specific.
“We would always just go, ‘Two bottles of prosecco, two bottles of rosé, and white’.
“And then we did the Mighty Hoopla Festival a few years ago.
“Blue were wandering around with bottles of Whispering Angel, and we had some rubbish rosé in ours.
“I said to someone, ‘How come they’ve got that and we’ve got rubbish stuff?’ And they said, ‘Well, they asked for it’.
“So now I’m always very specific. Now it’s Whispering Angel, and I always ask for a bottle of Laurent-Perrier rosé Champagne.
“I don’t always get it, but the days I do get it are very exciting.”
