Christina Applegate ‘discharged from hospital after four-month stay’

Actress Christina Applegate has reportedly been discharged from hospital after a four-month stay and she’s said to be doing well after her latest health crisis.

Christina Applegate has reportedly been discharged from hospital after a four-month stay.

The 54-year-old actress – who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 – is believed to have been admitted to a medical centre in Los Angeles in March but TMZ.com is now reporting Christina has been allowed to go home and is “doing well” although it remains unclear whether the stay was related to her MS battle.

After her hospital stay was first reported, Christina thanked fans for their well wishes and declared she is “getting stronger” every day. In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes. Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day.

“I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

Christina, known for her roles in a string of television and film projects including Married … With Children, has previously spoken publicly about the condition through interviews and her podcast, MesSy, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

A source told the Daily Mail: “With every setback, if we are being realistic, everyone has it in the back of their minds that they might not have a tomorrow with her.”

The insider added: “Christina is a fighter, but her battle with MS has been treacherous. She has better days and really bad days – she doesn’t have great days. She’s always dealing with something. It sucks.”

The source continued: “But when she does look at things positively it makes her feel better in the moment because she has so many friends that are there for her, even to listen to her, cry with her and anything in between.”

When contacted by New York Post column Page Six, a representative for Christina previously declined to confirm details of her hospitalisation.

The spokesperson said: “I have no comment on whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”
