Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom were married from 2010 until 2013.
Miranda Kerr said her ex-husband Orlando Bloom is “like a brother” to her as she opened up about co-parenting.
The 43-year-old model and the 49-year-old actor have remained on good terms since their three-year marriage ended in 2013, and she said the key to their successful co-parenting is putting their 15-year-old son Flynn first.
On the latest episode of the Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari podcast, Miranda said: “It’s obviously not easy when you’re separating. And there’s always a level of hurt, even if you both know it’s for the right reasons.
“So there’s always a level of hurt both ways, I would say in any separation.
“The most important thing that I learnt is just to put the needs of the child first, so like, ‘Is this in the best interest of Flynn?’
“And that was really our guidepost for any decision.”
Speaking about Orlando, Miranda added: “Through that, we’ve known each other for a long time, we’ve developed such a good friendship that he’s just part of the family. He’s like a brother, you know? So we have that.”
In February, the brunette beauty admitted that she and Orlando were not “bringing out the best” in each other during their marriage.
Discussing where their relationship currently stands, Miranda told 51-year-old Paul C. Brunson on his We Need to Talk podcast: “Orlando and I are great friends.
“I just wished him a happy birthday, and he told me, thank you to me for being such a wonderful mother to Flynn and a great friend to him, and how grateful he is to have me in his life. And I feel the same.
“I wish him only all the best for this coming year. We see each other regularly and always have been very harmonious. There’s such a base level of friendship and respect there that we both have for each other.”
In May 2017, Miranda married 36-year-old Snapchat CEO and co-founder Evan Spiegel.
They are parents to sons Hart, eight, Myles, six, and two-year-old Pierre.
Orlando, meanwhile, struck up a romance with 41-year-old singer Katy Perry, and they got engaged in 2019.
The following year, the pair welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, into the world.
However, Orlando and the Firework hitmaker split in June 2025.
