Halle Berry feels “really good” about turning 60 as she approaches the major milestone.
The Hollywood actress will celebrate her big birthday on August 14 and she’s now admitted she isn’t worried about entering a new decade because she has so many positives in her life.
She told Hello! magazine: “I feel really good about it. I feel as though I’m at the best time of my life, as an actor and in everything I do. I’ve called this period ‘my greatest act’ and I really do believe that.
“Being an actor, an entrepreneur and a woman at this age and getting to do what I’m truly passionate about is incredibly fulfilling. So I’m not afraid of getting older, I’m just excited about what comes next.”
Halle is engaged to her partner of five years, Van Hunt, while she’s also busy with her film work and running her own menopause-care company, Respin.
However, Halle is adamant being a mother to her two children, Nahla, 18, with Gabriel Aubry, and Maceo-Robert, 12, with Olivier Martinez, is her proudest achievement even more so than her Oscar win back in 2001.
She added: ” have a lot to be proud of. I’m grateful for that [Oscar win]. But the thing I’m most proud of is my kids … They are the best things in my life.”
Halle – who has been married three times previously – confirmed her engagement during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in February – revealing she wanted to clear up rumours which suggested she had turned down his proposal.
The actress explained: “There’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said n. I did not say no. We just don’t have a date. But of course I said yes, I would marry him!
“He did put a little ring on it.”
Halle – who was married to David Justice between 1993 and 1997, Eric Benet from 2001 until 2005, and to Oliver Martinez from 2013 until 2016 – previously insisted she didn’t need to get married again just to prove her relationship with Van Hunt is strong.
She told The Cut: “I haven’t said ‘yes’. I don’t think we need to be married to have a meaningful relationship. I’m in the best relationship I have ever had.”
