Johnny Depp couldn’t resist the opportunity to revisit the Fast Show sketch when Paul Whitehouse went to watch the actor and his Hollywood Vampires band perform at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday night (12.08.26).
Johnny Depp has been labelled “iconic” after reprising his famous skit with Paul Whitehouse 26 years on from the original.
The 63-year-old actor went down in television history after making an appearance on The Fast Show, and couldn’t resist the opportunity to revisit the sketch when Paul went to watch Johnny and his Hollywood Vampires band perform at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday night (12.08.26).
The original sketch appeared in the Last Ever episode of the show in 2000, and saw Johnny, as himself, visit the infamous Suits You Tailors in search of a new suit while visiting England.
While Johnny initially appears confused by Paul and co-star Mark Williams’ characters’ smutty conversation, in the end he joins in with their “Oh, suits you sir” exclamations.
On Wednesday, Paul’s wife Dr Mine Conkbayir was on hand backstage at the gig to record the hilarious moment her husband and Johnny reprised the sketch.
The pair stood closely together as they told each other “oh, suits you sir”, before Paul puckered up for a kiss.
Johnny jokingly leaned in, with the pair almost locking lips before the video came to an end.
Sharing the Reel on her instagram page, Dr Conkbayir wrote: “26 years later and saucier than ever! Suits you sirs!”
She added: “The @hollywoodvampires were f**king phenomenal! @johnnydepp – we love yooooooou!”
Dr Conkbayir also took to her main Instagram grid to post pictures from the evening, which also saw Ronnie Wood join the Hollywood Vampires on stage as a special guest, as she wrote: “Ah yes – and as per the photographic evidence included, @johnnydepp and my old man have declared their love for each other, so you can expect wedding bells soon!”
She also wrote in response to someone’s comment: “They’re good friends of old and admirers of each other’s work.”
People were quick to comment on the Instagram post, with one writing: “Iconic!!!! Ooo Suits you Sir ohhhh.”
“Amazing,” another said, while a third called it “awesome”.
Johnny once called his Fast Show cameo “one of my proudest achievements”, while Paul said that Depp had even called him “the greatest actor in the world”.
During an appearance on The One Show, Paul said: “Johnny was a big fan of The Fast Show. He was quite obsessed with it.”
Paul went on to make an appearance in Johnny’s movie Alice Through the Looking Glass, playing the Knave’s executioner/Thackery to Depp’s Mad Hatter.
