The White Lotus star Murray Bartlett likes to bare it all at his home in the woods because of having no neighbours.
Murray Bartlett likes being naked outside.
The 55-year-old actor enjoys the freedom of showering outdoors at his home in the woods without having to worry about neighbours.
Murray told Empire magazine: “I live in the woods and have an outdoor shower, which is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. I’m naked outside a couple of times a day.
“Needless to say – or maybe I should say – we don’t have neighbours.”
Despite his care-free way of life away from the cameras, Murray is too anxious to contact Hollywood star Hugh Jackman, 57, even though he has his phone number.
The Last of Us star explained: “I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t want to bother him. We’re not, like, close friends, but I adore him.”
He starred alongside Hugh in the 2006 Australian stage production of musical The Boy from Oz and, more recently, in The Death of Robin Hood, describing him as “one of the most wonderful humans you could ever meet”.
Murray has enjoyed huge success, notably bagging a Primetime Emmy Award and a Critic’s Choice Award for his performance as Armond, the manager of the White Lotus resort in Maui, Hawaii, in series one of HBO’s black comedy drama anthology series.
But the entertainer’s acting journey stems from a horror childhood accident when his brother accidentally knocked his teeth out with a hammer while trying to kill a spider.
It left Murray with a lisp for years, prompting his mom to send him to a speech therapist, whose monologue and poem exercises helped unlock his “rich imagination”.
He recalled: “I knew from a young age that I wanted to be an actor. I was also nudged by fate: my brother was trying to kill a spider on a rock and accidentally knocked my teeth out with a hammer.
“I couldn’t say ’S’s for a couple of years; I had a lisp.
“My mum sent me to a speech therapist, and this amazing woman got me doing monologues and poems. Ever since then, I had a rich imagination – I’d wander the front yard dressed up in whatever clothes fitted the fantasy character I was into that day.”
