The disgraced hip-hop mogul has been given a new projected date for leaving federal prison as he continues to appeal his conviction and sentence.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has had his projected prison release date brought forward again.
Weeks after the disgraced music mogul was reportedly released from solitary confinement following an alleged fight with another inmate, Combs, 56, is now scheduled to leave the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix in New Jersey on February 5, 2028, according to federal prison records reported by Page Six on Thursday (03.09.26.)
The latest change comes as the Bad Boy Records founder serves a 50-month sentence after being convicted in 2025 of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, while being acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The projected date has changed several times during Sean’s imprisonment.
Federal Bureau of Prisons records reviewed by ABC News in July showed his expected release had moved from February 23, 2028, to January 24, 2028.
No reason was given for that adjustment.
His projected release subsequently moved back to February 20 before being changed again to February 5.
The changes have come amid reports about Sean’s conduct inside Fort Dix.
TMZ reported in July Combs became involved in an altercation after another prisoner allegedly insulted him.
Sources told the outlet the inmates scuffled before prison staff intervened and separated them.
Combs was subsequently placed in solitary confinement, according to reports, before TMZ reported in August he had been released from the unit.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has declined to discuss the specifics of Combs’ confinement or disciplinary matters involving him.
It told Page Six: “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not release information regarding the conditions of confinement for any inmate, including housing assignments, nor do we discuss whether a particular inmate is the subject of allegations, investigations, or sanctions.”
Combs was transferred to Fort Dix after previously being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn following his arrest in 2024.
The three-time Grammy winner was convicted following a high-profile federal trial in New York in 2025.
Jurors found him guilty of two counts of transporting people to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act but acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and two sex-trafficking charges.
He was subsequently sentenced to four years and two months in prison.
Combs is appealing his conviction and sentence.
His lawyers appeared before the Manhattan-based Second US Circuit Court of Appeals in April, arguing the convictions should be overturned or that Sean should receive a new, shorter sentence.
The three-judge panel appeared divided over the case, with Judge William Nardini describing it as “exceptionally difficult” at the end of the hearing.
Combs remains one of the most prominent figures in hip-hop after founding Bad Boy Records and helping launch or develop the careers of artists including The Notorious B.I.G. and Faith Evans.
His own biggest hits include I’ll Be Missing You, his tribute to The Notorious B.I.G., as well as Bad Boy for Life.
He has won three Grammy Awards and previously performed under the names Puff Daddy, P. Diddy and Diddy.
Combs continues to face numerous civil lawsuits containing allegations including sexual assault and other misconduct.
He has denied wrongdoing in the civil cases.
