Jameela Jamil has urged people to “listen to your bodies” after a “fluke bad luck thing” led to her cancelling her live podcast show.
The TV presenter turned actress had been due to host a live recovering of her Wrong Turns podcast on September 11, with guests including singer Paloma Faith.
However, in a post on her Instagram page on Friday (04.09.26), Jameela told her followers that she has had to cancel the show due to her ill health.
She wrote: “I’m so sorry to do this but as you may have seen from various hospital pics over the past few weeks, I’ve been really sick with a fluke bad luck thing.
“I am not going to be able to do the WRONG TURNS live show (which you sold out because you’re the f****** best next Friday. “I can’t think of a bigger wrong turn than this. We will come back bigger and stronger soon hopefully. I love being with you in person. I just have to look after myself.
“I am VERY VERY sorry, Gonna go away for a bit and recover. Love you. Listen to your bodies.”
Jameela added in the caption for the Instagram post that she would rearrange the show for “when I am well enough”, and admitted she has never cancelled “an appearance or booked job in my entire 18 year career”.
She concluded: “So you can imagine how mad this must be over here. It’s been a bit like living Final Destination.”
While Jameela didn’t go into any more details as to what she’s been battling, she thanked three nurses for “keeping me above water”, and promised fans she would still be posting “now and then from my bed”.
Organisers of the September 11 Wrong Turns live recording, which had been due to be held as part of the London Podcast Festival, also announced the cancellation on their website, writing: “We’re sorry to inform you know that, due to illness, Wrong Turns with Jameela Jamil will no longer take place on Friday 11th September.
“We’re currently working with Jameela’s team to find a new date for the show, so that we can welcome you and Jameela back to Kings Place soon.
“Ticket holders will be contacted again when the new date has been confirmed.
“We’re sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and understanding.
“In the meantime, we’re wishing Jameela a speedy recovery. Thank you for your support.”
