The Masters of the Universe actress found a bearded dragon in her back garden while husband Dave Franco was away from home and she took to the internet to track down where the creature had escaped from, discovering he had made a slow trek of over a mile to get to her garden.
During an upcoming appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Dave recalled in a preview clip shared by Entertainment Weekly that he had received a call from Alison, who told him: “We have a dinosaur on our back patio.”
The 43-year-old actress first wanted to feed the creature, so “she tried to give it some lettuce”.
Drew showed a video of the couple’s pets, Max and Otis, intently studying the bearded dragon through a sliding glass door.
Dave, 41, said: “There’s our cats a little perturbed by it all.”
Alison eventually realised: “I bet this is someone’s pet.”
She then posted a “picture of this little dino” on a neighbourhood forum and its owner reached out.
Dave recalled: “Someone said, ‘That’s my bearded dragon.’ And so she reunited it with its owner and she found out that it had left its owner two months ago and it travelled like a mile and a half… It was on this odyssey.”
Once reunited, the former Mad Men star learned the creature’s name was Little Boy.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Now You See Me actor revealed that when both he and Alison are at home, they love nothing more than a lazy Sunday in bed, watching movies and eating doughnuts.
He said: “Because we have to spend so much time apart due to work… when we are in town at the same time, we really do put Sundays aside just to be there with each other and just like have a nice day.
“We’re like, let’s treat ourselves. Let’s have something to look forward to at the end of the week. So we got doughnuts in bed and we’re pounding like four movies, and it’s the greatest day. We just got our cats piled on us, like, what’s not to love.”
