Digger star Tom Cruise is determined to keep pushing himself as an actor because he has wanted “adventure” from an early age.

The 64-year-old actor is back on the big screen for his latest movie Digger and insists that he never wants to stop pushing the boundaries in terms of his acting career.
Speaking on The Graham Norton Show, Tom said: “Cinema is my passion. Since I was four years old, I have wanted adventure and an adventurous life.
“I am always doing something – learning something new which I can add to characters. I want to push every art form. I love the challenge of doing one thing while working on another. To create is life.”
Tom’s latest movie sees him play oil tycoon Digger Rockwell – who is racing to save humanity from a disaster he unleashed – and he revealed how he drastically cut down the amount of time spent transforming into the character using prosthetics.
The Top Gun star said: “The makeup was taking so long that I decided to get it down from six hours to one – it was like a ballet getting everything in place. It was just like Formula 1.”
Cruise quipped: “I had someone else hold the stopwatch!”
The Mission: Impossible star claims that he had “never seen a character like Digger” during his legendary film career.
Tom explained: “My character is outrageous and unpredictable. He says things that others may be thinking and never say.
“It’s a timeless story about power, greed, and ego framed in a very timely manner by Alejandro G. Inarritu – one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. I’ve never read a script like it, and I have never seen a character like Digger.”
Tom also revealed that he had “such a good time” at Digger’s premiere in London earlier this week, where he was joined by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
He said: “They are amazing – very charismatic. I had such a good time.”
Meanwhile, Tom revealed recently that he is keen to make a movie with pop star Taylor Swift as he thinks she would be a “brilliant” director.
Speaking to BuzzFeed UK, the Days of Thunder actor – who was pictured sitting next to Taylor at a recent Kansas City Chiefs NFL game – said: “It would be amazing to work with her on anything.
“I make movies, you know, let’s go make a movie. I think she’s such a talent in anything she does. She’s absolutely brilliant. She’s a brilliant writer. Brilliant …”
