Dolly Parton coffee line Cup of Ambition launches weeks after her death

Dolly Parton previously revealed she has been working on the coffee line for 40 years.

Dolly Parton’s Cup of Ambition coffee line has officially launched just weeks after her death.

The country music icon, who died aged 80 on August 25, had revealed before her passing that she was working on her own coffee brand, taking its name from her classic song 9 to 5.

To mark National Coffee Day in the US on Tuesday (29.09.26), Cup of Ambition has officially hit the market.

As reported by PEOPLE magazine, a press release described the coffee line – which has bene made in partnership with family-owned roaster Community Coffee – as “a dream of hers more than 40 years in the making”.

In July, weeks before she died, Dolly filmed three commercials to promote the brand, and the first has been revealed.

In the promo, Dolly can be seen getting ready for her day as she plays a bejewelled pink guitar while sipping a matching mug of coffee.

Donna Saurage, third-generation owner of Community Coffee, said: “Dolly had a warmth that made you feel like you’d known her forever.

“We connected over our love of family, serving our communities and bringing people together, and it was a true joy to help make her dream of a Cup of Ambition coffee become a reality.”

Back in June, Dolly opened up about her coffee line plans as she launched Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop, and revealed it’s been in her mind for decades.

She said at the time: “I thought the Cup of Ambition would be a fantastic name for a coffee brand, and I’ve been working towards this for over 40 years.

“This is just one of those dreams that’s taken a little longer than I thought it might, but we’ve got it and it’s working.

“I can’t wait for you to try it. But I couldn’t be more happy with it. Community Coffee has been a fantastic partner for me and I like the way they think.”

Days after Dolly’s death, her longtime manager Danny Nozell revealed her team have a “project roadmap” from Dolly herself which will keep her legacy alive “for decades to come”.

As reported by Deadline, the upcoming projects in the pipeline include an avatar show, a musical documentary, a docuseries, a biopic, a scripted series, and an animated series based on Billy the Kid.

Danny said in a statement: “Dolly worked up until the day she died. She loved seeing her dreams come to life, and loved knowing her work brought people joy.

“Ever the planner, Dolly worked with the team that she handpicked, for the past several years to build a project roadmap that will guide us for decades to come.”

Danny promised to “ensure the many dreams she had yet to fulfil are brought to life”.

He added: “Many projects were in various stages of development, and we want to be transparent with her fans about this fact.

“If you see unreleased music, products, books, experiences, and campaigns launched through official Dolly Parton channels, you can have confidence in knowing that she placed her personal stamp on it.”
