Movie star Jeremy Strong is keen to keep taking risks in his acting career.
Jeremy Strong is determined to “run towards the danger” in his career.
The 47-year-old actor plays Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, in The Social Reckoning, and Jeremy has reflected on the experience of making Aaron Sorkin’s legal thriller film, which is a standalone sequel to The Social Network.
The actor told The Hollywood Reporter: “What we do is absurd. I’m not Mark Zuckerberg, right? But my job for the time I make this movie is to believe that I am with authority. And that requires a great deal of concentration — which I think people project all kinds of nonsense onto — and a lot of trust between Aaron and I.
“And Aaron extends me an immense amount of trust, so I think my job is to meet that trust with as much courage as I can muster and be willing to go way the f*** out on a limb and maybe go up in flames. That’s the risk I have to take”.
Jeremy relished the experience of working with Aaron, who wrote, co-produced, and directed The Social Reckoning, and Jeremy is determined to keep taking risks in his career.
He said: “When he asked me to do this one, Sarah Polley wrote a book recently called Run Towards the Danger, and that’s what I have to do: run towards the danger.”
Earlier this month, Jeremy defended his method acting approach.
The movie star explained that he commits wholeheartedly to every role he takes on, and he doesn’t have any regrets about his serious approach to acting.
During an appearance on The New Yorker Radio Hour, Jeremy shared: “I think I can’t really speak to that. Of course, some people seem to have been … It is never my intention to interfere with anyone else’s experience or anyone else’s way of working. First, do no harm, right? But commit to your f******, to what you’re doing, and utterly.”
Asked to clarify his comments, Jeremy explained: “So, if some people feel I’m taking it too seriously or it changes the molecules in the room in a way that makes something uncomfortable, I guess that’s something that I don’t feel that I need to apologise for.”
Jeremy Strong wants to ‘run towards the danger’, but why?
