Zazie Beetz is expecting her first child with her husband, David Rysdahl, and they announced their happy news after she debuting her baby bump on the red carpet at the New York premiere of Nocturne on Tuesday (20.10.26).

The 35-year-old actress announced that she and her 39-year-old husband, actor-and-screenwriter David Rysdahl, are set to become parents after debuting her baby bump on the red carpet at Tuesday’s (20.10.26’s) New York premiere of her Apple TV+ crime drama series Nocturne.
She and David, who got married at Salveymuhle by Zaza in her home country of Germany in 2023, stepped out for the big event, with Zazie showing off her growing bump in a two-piece striped skirt suit from Maximilian Raynor’s spring 2027 collection.
Multiple loved-up red carpet shots showed the couple smiling as he posed beside her, holding her belly.
According to Essence, the Deadpool 2 star and the Soulm8te entertainer met at an acting workshop almost a decade before they tied the knot.
During an interview with Vanity Fair in May 2022, Zazie confirmed her engagement to David.
In February that year, David discussed their collaborative approach to filmmaking.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, he said: “Zazie and I both grew up in the industry, kind of approaching it collaboratively.
“Sometimes as an actor you come in, do a job, and it’s over. There’s so much more on that bone. I want to be in the editing room. I want to help put it together beforehand.”
The Revival alum went on to explain how he and Zazie began exploring opportunities to support emerging voices and work on projects together.
David said: “She and I started coming into it as producers and saying, ‘Can we support the voices that we care about?’ Can we create the stories and have a little bit more room at the table to be a part of that? That’s kind of what the impetus was behind it.”
The pair have appeared on screen together multiple times, including in season six, episode four of Netflix’s anthology series Black Mirror, the 2018 comedy-drama movie Dead Pigs, and the 2020 fantasy-drama film Nine Days.
Zazie and David’s creative partnership led them to launch their own production firm, Sleepy Poppy.
