Jenna Ortega reveals the unusual Halloween costume she once wore

Jenna Ortega likes to create her own Halloween costumes, but she has not decided on an outfit for this year.

Jenna Ortega once dressed up as a rock for Halloween.

The 24-year-old actress likes to celebrate the spooky season by creating her own outfits.

Appearing on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday (19.10.26), Jenna said: “I love costumes.”

She added: “I was a rock one year. You go to, like, Hobby Lobby or something and get a big block of styrofoam, and you spray paint it.”

The Beetlejuice Beetlejuice star even had a funny accessory to go with the costume.

Jenna added: “I had a headband, I think, that said ‘rock.'”

Seth, 52, noted that it was vital for the Wednesday entertainer to have the headband, as he quipped: “Otherwise, the whole day people are gonna be like, ‘What are you supposed to be?'”

The talk show host revealed he also had a unique Halloween costume one year – a pile of garbage, which his dad, Lawrence, created for him.

Seth said: ‘It was great. It was my idea; my dad did all of the work.”

However, his costume left many people puzzled, with some questioning if he was dressed as a “pile of leaves”.

Looking back, Seth realised his “biggest mistake” was not wearing a “headband” labelled “garbage”.

Jenna wondered how old the former Saturday Night Live cast member was when he wore the costume, and Seth joked: “It was last year.”

He added: “My dad was like, ‘I’m too old to help you with this.’ And I’m like, ‘What am I going to do? Ask my kids?’

“And he’s like, ‘I don’t think you should do it at all!'”

Jenna has not decided on her Halloween outfit for 2026.

She added: “I’m late! No, I do it last minute.”

The Scream star has previously recreated Bjork’s famous swan dress, which the singer wore at the 2001 Oscars, and dressed as the Invisible Man for a big parade last year.

She added about the horror monster: “I bandaged my face and stole a hat and a trench coat from a friend.”

But Jenna noted: “It was just, like, a little suspicious going into pubs [dressed that way]. I was in Ireland, and I think it looked like they were sneaking a child into the [party]. So I had to, like, pull off the face.”
