Kim Kardashian wears Elizabeth Taylor’s cape in All’s Fair

Kim Kardashian has revealed she wears a cape previously owned by Dame Elizabeth Taylor in the new series of her legal drama All’s Fair after it was loaned to her by her mother Kris Jenner.

Kim Kardashian wears a cape previously owned by Dame Elizabeth Taylor in the new series of All’s Fair.

The reality TV star has revealed she borrowed the black scorpion-embellished cloak by Tiziani Roma – which Taylor wore to a ball thrown by Grace Kelly in 1969 – from her mother Kris Jenner after the creator of the legal drama, Ryan Murphy, wrote an episode linking her character Allura Grant to Taylor.

The cape went full circle when Kris wore it to the red carpet premiere of All’s Fair in Rome, Italy on Saturday (24.10.26) and Kim explained the link in a post on Instagram, writing: “Fun fact about the cape my mom is wearing. It belonged to Elizabeth Taylor, and my mom now owns it and graciously let me wear it in All’s Fair.

“After Ryan Murphy heard the story of Elizabeth Taylor wearing it to Grace Kelly’s Scorpion Ball, naturally, he made sure to write an episode about [Kim’s All’s Fair character] Allura Grant throwing her own Scorpion Ball. I’m the luckiest girl to have borrowed it from my mom.”

The black cloak – with a silver scorpion across the front – was worn by Taylor to Kelly’s Scorpion Ball in Monte Carlo on November 15, 1969.

The event was held to celebrate the princess’ 40th birthday and was named after her star sign – Scorpio – and Taylor, who was a Pisces, honoured the night’s theme with her outfit.

The original cloak was sold at auction for $74,500 back in 2011.

Kim has previously worn jewellery once owned by Taylor and she famously walked the red carpet at the Met Gala wearing a dress previously seen on another movie icon – Marilyn Monroe.

The TV personality previously admitted it was a struggle it took to fit into Monroe’s iconic dress – which is owned by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not – and had to change into the outfit at the gala itself in a bid to avoid damaging it during travel to the venue.

In a previous episode of The Kardashians, she said: “I can’t sit in a car, I can’t risk it. It’s so fragile, you guys. No one can touch me. So if anyone touches me and gets their oils on the dress … it’s too risky to get in the car and leave from the hotel and do it …

“So, all of this – the losing the weight, dying the hair for 30 hours, leaving the hotel in a robe, getting there, changing on the red carpet, just walking to the top of the red carpet, then changing again into a replica of the dress, because we can’t risk sitting in it and eating dinner, is all for maybe 10 minutes of my life, just on the red carpet. Like, that’s it.”
