PlayStation has teased that more Grand Theft Auto VI information is coming before the game’s November 19 launch, potentially including details about its PS5 features.
PlayStation has teased that more information about Grand Theft Auto VI will be revealed before Rockstar’s highly anticipated game launches on November 19.
The tease came as PlayStation confirmed that digital pre-orders for GTA VI can now be pre-loaded from November 10, two days earlier than the previously announced November 12 date for code-in-a-box editions.
The game’s enormous file size could be behind the change, with Rockstar confirming that GTA VI can require up to 212GB of storage depending on the console.
In a PlayStation blog post outlining preparations for launch, the company listed four steps for players to complete before November 19.
However, it ended with an intriguing message: “Stay tuned for more. We’ll have more information on Grand Theft Auto VI as we get closer to November 19.”
Sony has already confirmed several PS5-specific features for GTA VI, including Tempest 3D Audio, fast loading through the console’s high-speed SSD and support for the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and integrated speaker.
PlayStation said: “Immerse yourself in Leonida’s distinct soundscape with the enhanced and highly accurate audio positioning of Tempest 3D Audio, making each unique situation come alive.”
The new tease could point to further technical details, potentially including support for QSSR, Sony’s upscaling technology for the standard PS5, or full specifications for the PS5 Pro version.
At present, no PS5-exclusive content has been confirmed for GTA VI, with the platform’s advantages focused on technical features.
However, PlayStation’s wording has left open the possibility that more could be announced before launch.
The company’s four recommended preparation steps include setting up a PlayStation account, pre-ordering GTA VI, preparing to pre-download the game and completing the PS5 setup.
Players will need to clear up to 212GB of storage for the download, although Sony’s advice to complete the PS5 setup also highlights the console’s accessories and audio capabilities.
GTA VI will also use the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to provide “dynamic resistance” and an “extra dimension” during gameplay.
The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.
