Tori Spelling was an ‘OG fashion starter’

Beverly Hills, 90210 star Tori Spelling has declared she was an “OG fashion starter” back in the 1990s and she’s really enjoyed reflecting on her past style with her kids.

Tori Spelling was an “OG fashion starter” back in the 1990s.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star has opened up about her love of fashion and revealed she’s been looking back on her past outfits with her five kids, who are aged between nine and 19, after watching TV series Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. Carolyn Bessette which is set in the decade.

Tori told PEOPLE: “I’m really kind of finding my roots again. I think I was kind of an OG fashion starter, and I want to continue that.

“Fashion is about how it makes you feel. I think it’s about finding your unique perspective. It can be anything. I love reinventing myself through fashion, and it’s something that gives me passion inside.”

Tori added of watching the TV series with her kids: “I definitely love fashion. It [the show] took me to some really good memories through the ’90s, so it was nice to reflect back on that and watch it with a new generation and my teens.

“It was really cool to be able to tell them stories about going through that time and making it current now.”

However, Tori does have one big regret about the 1990s – she previously confessed she regrets plucking her eyebrows “so thin” when following the 1990s trend when she was younger.

Speaking to E! News about the beauty blunder,Tori said: “I shouldn’t have plucked my eyebrows so thin in the ’90s. It was a big deal in the ’90s! No one ever told me the brow would be back, and now the brow is back. It’s something that when you pluck it’s really hard to get back.

“I wish I’d never plucked my eyebrows. We all did it on 90210. Jennie [Garth] and I both look back and we’re like, ‘Oh my God. We plucked our eyebrows.'”

Tori has admitted her decision to hack away at the straw hairs on her eyebrows was because she was “obsessed” with fellow actress Drew Barrymore.

She explained: “In the ’90s I was obsessed with Drew Barrymore movies. She had the thin ones and it was totally cool.”

Tori previously shared her best beauty tips in an interview with Allure magazine, revealing she’s learned a lot from working with make-up artists over the years.

She told the publication: “I was the girl with a gazillion and one makeup brushes, but after being in so many shoots and doing so many things over the years, you learn amazing tricks – especially with Q-tips. I learned how to smoke my eyes out with them.”

Tori went on to add that she rarely leaves home without applying mascara and her favourite brand is a high street bargain.

She said: “First, I curl my lashes, which I think makes a huge difference. Then I throw on a waterproof mascara and go. I’ve tried every single one, and I love Maybelline mascaras.”
