Kelly Osbourne will ‘never be the same person I was’ after Ozzy’s death

Kelly Osbourne was understandably left devastated by her father’s passing, and told Us Weekly that she’s only recently been able to start rebuilding herself.

Kelly Osbourne has admitted she’ll “never be the person she was” following dad Ozzy’s death.

The Black Sabbath legend passed away in July 2025, aged 76 – just 17 days after his final performance.

Kelly was understandably left devastated by her father’s passing, and told Us Weekly that she’s only recently been able to start rebuilding herself.

She told Us Weekly: “I’m getting a little bit better every day. The pain will never go away, and I’ll never be the person I was before he died again.

“But I’m getting to know the new me.”

Asked who the “new” Kelly is, she replied: “I’m still figuring it out.”

It’s going to be a difficult weekend for Kelly, as it’s Father’s Day in the UK on Sunday (21.06.26).

However, she’s got something planned to make it more bearable – and remember Ozzy in the process.

She revealed: “Me and my brother Louis are going to do something special for my dad this weekend.”

Kelly is also remembering Ozzy in other ways, including sweet tributes that have quickly become tradition for her.

She told People: “There’s so many things that we do that we always keep a seat at the table for him.

“I light a candle every day. For him, I wear a locket. It’s under my dress, you can’t see it, but it has his picture in it, and my baby opens it every day and gives it a kiss and says hi to Papa.

“And every time I see the clock at 11:11, I know that’s him talking to me.”

In addition, Kelly paid tribute to Ozzy with her ensemble for Royal Ascot – by wearing a bat-shaped fascinator.

The 41-year-old TV star attended the famous British racecourse, in Berkshire, south east England, on Tuesday (16.06.26), on the opening day of Royal Ascot, and her headgear appeared to be a nod to her father.

Ozzy has long been associated with bats after he once bit the head off one, believing it to be a plastic toy, when a fan threw the creature on stage at a gig in 1982.

Kelly looked effortlessly elegant in her bat-inspired fascinator on Tuesday, along with a black dress from Karen Millen.

Afterwards, Kelly was pleased to take her heels off. She posted a picture on her Instagram Stories of her bare feet, and she wrote: “If your shoes are glad to come off, you probably had a day worth remembering”.
