Actor Dean Cain is considering running for office in his home state of Nevada – declaring he will get into politics if he thinks he can “do some good”.

The Lois + Clark: The New Adventures of Superman actor, 59, was raised in California after moving there as a child but he left Los Angeles three years ago to start a new life in Las Vegas – and Cain is now considering whether he should swap acting for a new career in politics.
He told Fox News: “If I think I can make Nevada better, perhaps I’ll do it. If I thought I could come in, do some good for this state of Nevada and for this country, I would do it and get out.
“If I feel like I can help people, I think that should be the metric for why people get into politics. Unfortunately, I think they get into politics for power, for money, and for prestige. I don’t need any of those things.”
Cain added of moving to Sin City: “I left Hollywood three years ago. Nobody lives in California anymore. Everybody leaves …
“[Las Vegas is] the entertainment capital of the world, there’s sports, there are concerts, there is everything in the world here. I love it. And there’s a film industry here as well.”
Cain’s latest comments come after he previously declared he was signing up to work for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The actpr told Fox News host Jesse Watters he decided to join ICE after the presenter shared a recruitment video on his Instagram.
He said: “I’m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer – I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy.
“So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at Ice, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.”
Dean believes the current immigration system in America is “broken” so he is keen to do what he can to support President Donald Trump.
He said: “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing.
“We have a broken immigration system. Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens.
“I’m stepping up. Hopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we’ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we’ll help protect this country.”
