Keke Palmer embraces her leg hair and does not care if people judge her for it.
Keke Palmer “doesn’t really shave [her] legs”.
The 32-year-old actress proudly embraces her leg hair and is unfazed by any judgement over her decision not to remove it.
During a recent appearance on the Are You Okay? social media series, host Brianna “Bri” Morales asked Keke for one thing she is not ashamed to admit.
The ‘Burbs star replied: “I don’t really shave my legs. I’m not doing it.”
As she pretended to shave her legs, Keke added: “Who’s sitting there?”
She continued: “If you don’t like me because of the hair on my legs, then we’re not meant to be.”
Keke noted that she may “slap some Nair” cream and shave the hair on her legs “every six months”.
And added: “But I’m not sitting there doing all that.”
However, the One of Them Days cast member has not always “appreciated” her natural hair.
Keke has a head of curly locks, and while she now sports a plethora of “protective styles” by wearing wigs, it took her a “long time” to understand what her actual hair can do.
In December 2024, she told Vogue: “I am a girl that likes to do protective styles, which for me usually means a wig. And I think it took me a long time to get to the place of being able to really appreciate my hair and all its uniqueness and what it can do and only it can do.”
The I Love Boosters alum noted that whenever she chooses to don a fake hairpiece now, it is something that she does completely out of choice to explore her options, and this has meant she has developed a “different relationship” with her tresses.
She said: “Now when I wear a wig, it’s not because I feel like I have to, but it’s because I wanna do something different that I don’t wanna do to my natural hair. And when I wear my natural hair, I actually have a different relationship with it.”
In November 2022, Keke said she was “so glad” that director Jordan Peele let her sport her “natural hair” in his horror/Sci-Fi film, Nope, in which the star plays Emerald Haywood.
Speaking at the Teen Vogue Summit 2022, the entertainer said: “The number one thing that he knew was that he knew he wanted Emerald to have my ‘fro.
“Like he was searching on my Instagram page and he said, ‘This is Emerald right here.’ [I was like,]’I’m so glad that this is the look that you chose [for me] to wear on the main stage and represent my natural hair in this way, honey!'”
