Anitta wants people to “learn” about the environment with her new fashion range.
The Brazillian-born pop star, 31, has launched her new 75-piece evoluSHEIN x Anitta collection and noted that the whole venture is “very important” to her because of how she wants to teach others about sustainability.
She told US TV show ‘Extra”: “This collection is very important to be, because it brings the different fabric and the idea of sustainability and using fabrics that are not so aggressive to the environment… It’s a subject I really care about because Brazil has such big nature. I like the idea of showing different people and their cultures. I think this brings also information — people can learn with the way you dress.”
The ‘Envolver’ hitmaker has also tried to incorporate her passion for inclusivity into her shows and music videos as she always tries to employ dancers with a range of different body types.
She said: “I bring my dancers and all types of bodies with me in my music videos, on stage. I like to bring all the different types of beauties we should admire and I like to admire, and I think Shein has a lot of that. In my collection, we have all the different sizes and all the different shapes and styles.”
The ‘Hitpig!’ star – who has eight MTV Europe Music Awards and was the first Brazilian artist to be named Best Latin American Act – has released six studio albums so far but was quick to point out that success did not come overnight for her.
She said: “When you really want something and you love something, you have to put in effort for it. And I’m putting the effort. I’m really glad with what’s happening in my career.”
