Scarlett Johansson’s beauty brand could launch make-up

Scarlett Johansson has revealed her skincare brand The Outset could move into make-up after launching the first coloured lip balm.

Scarlett Johansson’s skincare brand The Outset could move into make-up after launching the first coloured lip balm.

The Hollywood actress, 40, founded her own plant-based beauty brand back in 2022 to provide reasonably-priced products for sensitive skin and she launched the Lip Oasis balm last year which was followed by the recent addition of three fruit-inspired tinted shades – and she’s now thinking about the possibility of adding more products.

When asked about the possibility of The Outset launching make-up products, she told Elle magazine: “Maybe, but I guess never say never!

“I can’t imagine going totally into colour because I don’t know if it is what we do best. But skin care is make-up. Make-up is skin care.

“I think there’s something to that. I do think there is potential in that world to do more. We will have to keep listening and see what people want from us.”

She added of her company: “I feel confident about it. I think our products are amazing, and I love to share them with people. It’s such a crowded space that it is normal for people to be skeptical.

“I am a skeptical person too, but I feel so confident about the products. I have no fear. I’m proud that people try them and get blown away by the difference in how their skin feels and looks. I welcome it.”

Scarlett previously opened up about the brand’s lip balm, telling InStyle magazine: “It’s a great product. It’s different looking. The formulation is different than a lot of stuff that’s out there. The slick of it is different.

“It has our Hyaluroset Complex in it. Right? So, it’s giving clinically proven moisture to your lips and changes the texture of your lips in four weeks.

“But also, that, coupled with the fact that it’s a recognizable part of me, you see, okay, there’s potential for us to hit with that.”

The balms are priced at $28 and comes in sheers shades of Sun Kise – a red-orange, Mirage – blackberry, and Dune, which is a nude.

All the products in The Outset line are both cruelty-free and vegan.
