WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass gets first update as devs admit new feature will ‘take time to get right’

The WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass has received an update in the new Patch 1.04.

The WWE 2K26 team will “require some time” to figure out the new Ringside Pass feature.

The annual franchise is returning with a new instalment for 2026, and along with new matches including 3 Stages of Hell, I Quit and Inferno, publishers 2K and developers Visual Concepts have introduced a battle pass style system to the wrestling series.

The game has six seasons each with 40 tiers, which include both free and premium tracks, replacing the old DLC system.

The game was released in Early Access last week for players who ordered the Attitude Era, Monday Night War and King of Kings editions, with the standard release coming on Friday (13.03.26).

In a new update, Patch 1.04, 2K said: “The Ringside Pass is a brand-new feature, so like anything new it’ll require some time and attention to get it just right.

“We have some adjustments to share with you as part of Patch 1.04*.

“So far we’ve seen the player experience not being exactly what’s intended, so we’re implementing some changes with Patch 1.04.”

The first of those changes is removing a block on custom matches awarding RXP, which meant adjusting rules or even just the types of weapons under the ring would prevent you from earning points.

Meanwhile, the RXP earn rates for matches has been given a 20 percent boost, going from 25 to 30 for completing a match, or from 85 to 105 for winning.

However, the team has also put a stop to a workaround fans spread on social media which saw players picking Eric Bischoff (one of the lowest rated stars in the game) as their opponent, adjusting the sliders and making him submit immediately, allowing them to get through the tiers much quicker than intended.

2K added: “If a match is completed faster than 60 seconds, players will receive completion RXP, but not additional win bonuses.

“We know you’re enjoying making Eric Bischoff tap out but let’s give poor ‘Eazy E’ a breather.”

They continued: “Overall, we hope these changes support a wider variety of match types and playstyles and help keep the experience fun and rewarding for everyone.”

Meanwhile, the team are also looking to reward Early Access players with a locker code to earn 32,500 VC.

First, you have to redeem the code – MZFGCPCR – and then head into The Island to claim the in-game currency.

Elsewhere in the patch, the team has made “stability and performance improvements”, as well as addressing “reported concerns over Game Pass subscriptions being required to access The Island and MyFaction”.

Other issues fixed in the patch include “various attacks not working as intended”, and problems with the Dominik Mysterio “reward mask”.
