Self-made multimillionaire businessman Lee, 41, says developments are ongoing which could see him obtain a 55 per cent share of the Premier League team for an as-yet undisclosed sum.
Chelsea is currently owned by the consortium BlueCo, led by American businessman Todd Boehly, who bought the club from previous owner Roman Abramovich for £4.25 billion in 2022.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun newspaper, Lee said: “There’s a bit of a verification process and I’ll only obtain 55 per cent, obviously for quite a large amount.
“I can’t tell you all the workings and inner parts to my wealth but definitely the money is there. And they have to accept and they have to verify, but it will be going in.
“It sounds crazy, it sounds ambitious, but watch this space.”
Last week, Chelsea Football Club posted a record-breaking £262.4m pre-tax loss for the 2024-2025 season.
Lee’s bold Chelsea bid claim comes after he purchased a £36 million home on Dubai’s prestigious Palm Jumeirah for him and Katie to live in. Lee claimed he paid for the property in cash.
However, the glamour model – formerly known as Jordan – has stated she won’t be relocating from the UK due to her family commitments.
Speaking on YouTube, Katie said: “I don’t know why people think I’m moving to Dubai.
“My family’s here. The husband is there, but the husband comes here and I can go to Dubai when I can.
“It’s a lot of hoo-ha.”
Lee married Katie in January, just weeks after meeting her online following her split from ex-boyfriend JJ Slater.
The businessman popped the question to Katie on January 23, and the couple tied the knot in Dubai just 48 hours later.
Lee is the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant’s fourth husband following her unions to Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler.
Despite being wed three times previously having numerous other relationships, Katie has claimed being with Lee is the first time she has been truly in love.
In a previous interview with The Sun, she said: “He’s The One … I thought I’d been in love before but this feels different.
“It’s not even about lust, it’s just instant connection on all levels. I fell in love with him long before I had sex with him.
“Lee ticks every box: he’s the most intelligent man I have ever been with, he has amazing legs, he makes me laugh, he’s protective – in a non jealous way – and he’s had life experience.”
