Hilary Duff is “haunted” by her past fashion choices as well as her “tragic” hair colour and obsession with eyeliner.
The singer/actress, 38, has confessed she struggles to look back at pictures of herself from the 2000s but she particularly hates the outfit she wore to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2003 which featured a multi-coloured crochet top with a ruffled mini-skirt and high-heeled sneakers.
In an interview with The Sunday Times newspaper, Hilary was asked if she would delete any outfits from her fashion history and she replied: “You mean all of my pictures from the 2000s? Yes!”
She added: “There was this crochet skirt/top situation worn with weird heeled sneaker-booties to the Kids’ Choice awards. It was all pastel and scalloped edges, and it really haunts me.
“There’s also my tragic hair colour and how many accessories I could fit in my hair. Part of it was endearing and part of it was … is she OK?”
Hilary went on to insist she wishes she hadn’t microbladed her eyebrows and added of her make-up: “I hit the eyeliner pretty hard in my twenties, so I’d tell her to tone it down a little.”
In the interview, Hilary explained her style choices are very different these days revealing her looks are a lot more relaxed especially if she’s not working – boasting she’s now able to complete a full face of make-up in just seven minutes when she’s in a rush.
Hilary went on to name some of her favourite beauty products revealing she’s a big fan of the Rhode Peptide Lip Shape Contouring Lip Shaper, Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Blush Balm Lip Tint in Cherry Talk, a face powder by Armani Beauty and a DedCool handcream.
Hilary also shared that her fashion must-haves include a T-shirt with baggy jeans and a dress shirt, Adidas Samba trainers and a pair of satin bowling shoes by Miu Miu.
When asked to name the last fashion item she bought, Hilary said: “A pair of chunky tortoiseshell Saint Laurent sunglasses. They are really big. I put them on and looked at my husband and said: ‘Are you going to take me seriously if I wear these?’ and he just started laughing.”
