The 28-year-old star admitted The Substance star was “great” at preparing her for what it would feel like to wear the artificial breast shapes.
She told ELLE UK magazine: “I do not have big boobs, so we had prosthetic ones
“I know Margaret Qualley and she had to wear them for The Substance.
“She was great about talking about the distributing of weight and what they might feel like.”
In the new Apple TV comedy-drama series, Elle stars as Margo Millet, a young woman who gets pregnant after an affair with her English professor, and she turns to OnlyFans to support herself.
Due to the nature of the storyline, Elle wasn’t always wearing much while portraying Margot, but she felt “very protected” on the show’s set.
She said: “I’ve never been self-conscious about my body.
“As a kid, I was always running around with no clothes on. I knew that it was crucial for it to feel like I’m not trying to hide.
“Margo is showing herself, so I had to feel that same way. I felt very protected on set. All our directors were women on this project.”
She also researched OnlyFans first hand, and saw some “extreme” but also “extremely tame” content on the site.
Elle explained: “The writers set up an account, so we could see how the platform worked.
“We got to understand the spectrum of people’s interests. From extreme to extremely tame. Like one girl I saw, she just cooks in a little sexy outfit.”
In the series, aspiring writer Margot’s OnlyFans persona is HungryGhost, and Elle had “a lot of fun” coming up with costume ideas for her character.
She told E! News: “With HungryGhost, even the costumes that we came up with, I love that they’re kind of DIY at times.
“We have Susie – played by Thaddea Graham – who’s my roommate, and she’s a cosplayer, and she designs costumes.
“So, we were thinking, ‘Gosh, what would Susie design for Margo?’ We had a lot of fun with it.”
