Amanda Seyfried feels like Snow White amid ‘bucolic life’ with her cashmere-providing goat

The Housemaid actress Amanda Seyfried has reflected on her “bucolic” life on her 50-acre farm, from which she gets cashmere from her pet goat, but also has to administer enemas to her animals – in a far cry from a glitzy red carpet event.

Amanda Seyfried achieved her dream of a “bucolic life” by moving a 50-acre farm – but she didn’t envisage having to administer enemas to her animals.

The 40-year-old actress is miles away from a glitzy red carpet when she is surrounded by goats, donkeys, peacocks, ducks, cats on her Hudson Valley farm, where she feels “so protected” in life.

She told GQ magazine: “I always wanted a bucolic life. I always wanted to have a farm.

“I was always searching for an out.

“This is private; there’s woods; I feel so protected. This is my dream”

The Housemaid star feels like Snow White – who is known for her deep, magical connection with nature, and is often surrounded by animals – when she is on her farm.

But sometimes she has to treat her animals medically, including administering an enema to her now-late horse Katie, who was suffering from intestinal problems.

Speaking about the revolting hands-on task, she said: “I had to, twice a day, put a tube in.

“Then you would put this syringe into the hole of the tube and, like, put it in and then hold the tube up so it comes out, because then it’ll come in, grab some of the poop and it’ll shoot!

“F***ing disgusting, but I did that for three weeks! Twice a day!”

But there are more positives to life on Amanda’s farm, such as the star getting plenty of cashmere from her goat Brownie.

She said: “Every day he has more cashmere for me. Look at it! Look at all this cashmere!”

Last month, Amanda – who lives with husband Thomas Sadoski, and their two children, daughter Nina, nine, and five-year-old son, whose name hasn’t been made public – revealed how she got ready for the Met Gala with her donkey Gus.

Speaking to Vogue’s red carpet live stream co-hosts Ashley Graham and Cara Delevigne, she said: “[Having a donkey] is great. It’s the best thing.

“I was rubbing his ears this morning to get ready.

“It’s nice to come to the the giant Met Ball … having had just been walking to the clovers and petting the goats and horses.

“But I did start out my day there. It’s so balanced.”
