Jane Seymour has shared her top tips for looking good into her 70s.
The 75-year-old actress has revealed she sticks to a mostly Mediterranean diet, which is inspired by the food of countries such Greece, Italy, and Spain and focuses on fresh fruit and vegetables, extra virgin olive oil and moderate amounts of fish, poultry and dairy. Jane also limits the amount of alcohol she drinks and sticks to an exercise regime involving fast walks, Pilates and ballet routines.
She told Fox News Digital: “Well, fitness, I try to do a combination of light weights, some walking, fast walking if I can, or up and down a hill. I do Pilates and Gyrotonics, or if I can’t do any of that, I do the usual thing, the sort of sit-ups and some ballet exercises.
“Actually, I go back to my ballet roots. I do a full barre. I eat a Mediterranean diet, usually. I stay away from starch, but not completely, because I never want to think I’m on a diet. I drink very moderately. When I’m filming, not at all.”
However, Jane revealed she refuses to go to Yoga classes because she’s convinced it would land her in hospital.
She added: “”I’ve had to actually tell myself that when I go into a group class, especially something like yoga, that I have to tell myself I am not going to win, because I’m way too A-type …
“I want to win. .. Which means that I can never have done yoga, and I will decide that I could turn myself into the pretzel like that person.
“No. No, I cannot. I’ll end up in the hospital or something, so … My approach is to try everything, but do it the way that I know I can. So, I listen to my body.”
Jane previously revealed she starts her days early with a cup of coffee and some vitamin supplements and she keeps tea spoons in the fridge which she uses to depuff her eyes.
She told Woman’s World: “I have to get up at 5 am, and I have a cup of coffee and my vitamins. To help me look well-rested, I keep teaspoons in the fridge or freezer when I’m filming.
“When I’m in the make-up chair, my skin has to be perfectly clean and ready, like a blank slate, so I’ll hold the cold spoons over my eyes and put them all around my skin.
“I like to push Body Firm’s Plump and Firm Cream into my skin with the cold spoons while they’re doing my hair – it’s so refreshing.”
