Opalite singer Taylor and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis, both 36, threw a huge wedding bash at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday (03.07.26) but Taylor’s onetime BFF Blake and her husband Ryan were noticeably absent.
Gossip Girl star Blake and Deadpool actor Ryan were also not seen at Swift and Kelce’s rehearsal dinner the day before.
TMZ published photos of the pair in Lake Placid, New York, where their daughter Betty, six, was competing in a horse show. They also have daughters James, 11, and Inez, nine, and son Olin, three, together.
Taylor revealed in 2024 that she was godmother to Lively and Reynolds’ children and she has also referenced the girls in the song Betty on her album Folklore.
Speaking previously about the track, she said: “I have to say that on Folklore, some of my favourite characters are named James, Inez and Betty.”
While Blake and Taylor were once best friends, their friendship came under strain during Lively’s legal battle with her This Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni.
It was previously revealed that both Taylor Swift and Blake Lively acknowledged a “shift” in their relationship amid the actress’ problems with Baldoni.
The pair’s text message exchange was laid bare after legal documents were unsealed ahead of a summary judgement hearing in the Gossip Girl star’s sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star and director, and showed Blake reaching out to the Fate of Ophelia hitmaker to express her worry she had been a “bad friend”.
According to PEOPLE magazine, the documents described the exchange as a conversation between the two stars and it began with Blake writing: “I have no reason to ask, but I donno, I’ve been feeling like I should… is everything ok? I felt like a bad friend lately because I was such a sad sack who only talked about my own s*** for months. You were generous to not only be the key person there for me during all of it, but also to let me off the hook for being so in it.
“I always want the opportunity to be a better friend if there’s something I unintentionally did. I know how busy and taxed you are – physically, emotionally, practically, so I don’t expect any more from you ever. Just want to make sure all is good.(sic)”
Taylor replied over an hour later to tell her pal – who admitted husband Ryan Reynolds had encouraged her to raise the issue – that she was “not wrong, but it’s also not a big deal”.
She continued: “I think I’m just exhausted in every avenue of my life and in recent months had been feeling a little bit of a shift in the way you talk to me.
“Yes there has been a lot of Justin stuff but I’ve been through things like this before and I know how all consuming it is.
“It’s more like… and I feel really bad saying anything about this because your texts have been so nice in their intent but your last few… it’s felt like I was reading a mass corporate email sent to 200 employees.
“And it feels awful to be in any way critical of any way you process what you’ve been going through but I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal-speaking friend who talks to me as herself… And I know you feel attacked from all sides for ridiculous reasons so you’re feeling like you have to overly explain things… but. It’s me! That’s just caused a little distance. And you don’t need to apologize. Just come back please.(sic)”
Meanwhile, Taylor and Travis tied the knot in front of a reported 1,000 guests, with their friend, actor Adam Sandler, overseeing the nuptials.
In a break with tradition, Taylor chose not to have bridesmaids and Travis had no groomsmen, but they both had their brothers, Austin Swift and Jason Kelce respectively, by their side for the occasion.
Both Taylor and Travis wore custom Christian Dior outfits, and Christian Louboutin shoes.
