Jason Sudeikis doesn’t want kids to be ‘little turds’

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde want their children to be aware of their privilege and not grow up to be “little turds”.

The former couple are parents to Otis, 12, and nine-year-old Daisy, and while the youngsters often find themselves in privileged positions as a result of their high-profile mom and dad, the pair are keen for them to stay grounded.

Earlier this month, Jason was joined by his children when he made a surprise appearance at the World Cup final half time show as his TV alter ego Ted Lasso, and the youngsters were able to meet both Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise.

Jason told E! News: “The cousin text chain lit up. So, that’s always exciting and fun.

“[Justin] was very kind. My son got to meet Tom Cruise.

“These kiddos. I’m doing everything I can that they don’t turn into little turds. Both me and their mom.”

The 50-year-old actor has implemented a “Ted Lasso philosophy” with one of his most important rules for his children.

He said: “I try to explain to them the power of please and thank you when you really mean it.

“Not only do you get to be in interesting places, but I think, more importantly, you get invited back.

“That feels like a Ted Lasso philosophy that we’ve yet to implement on the show, but you certainly see it a lot.”

Ted Lasso is returning to TV next month and sees the titular soccer coach take over Richmond FC’s women’s team, and Jason has always been a big fan of female sport.

He said: “Getting to be around women’s sports, specifically the WNBA, my sisters and I and my kids went to a lot of those games.

“Having season tickets right next to the opposing team’s bench, which is fascinating just getting to watch these kick-ass women coming off of three three-pointers in a row or after scoring a 0-12 run and just seeing the humanity and camaraderie amongst them.”

And he is no stranger to the dynamic between groups of females.

He said: “I grew up in a house full of women, so I’ve seen that in a variety of stages of my life.

“It’s something I’ve always been a big fan of and appreciated, the bawdiness and the cockiness.”
