Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi shares fears ahead of hysterectomy

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi has been asking for recommendations ahead of her upcoming hysterectomy.

Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi is worried about the “pain” of her upcoming hysterectomy.

The Jersey Shore star revealed in February she had been diagnosed with stage one cervical cancer and as she prepares to undergo surgery to have her uterus removed, she asked fans for help on what to buy to help ease her discomfort after the operation.

Showing off her abdominal band, constipation medication and a weighted heat pad on TikTok, the 38-year-old star said: “You guys know I don’t like pain, and I want to be cozy and comfy, and I needed recommendations on how to, like, recover the best way after my hysterectomy.

“If I’m missing anything, mamas, anybody who has gotten a hysterectomy with the big cut, please help. I don’t want to feel pain. If you know me, I’m a baby.

“I don’t like pain. I don’t like any type of uncomfortableness, and yeah, I just, I don’t like it. So obviously, I’ll have, like, some pain meds and stuff.”

Snooki later returned to the platform to show off the oversized underwear and t-shirt dresses she had bought, and explained why she will undergo an open abdominal hysterectomy rather than a less invasive procedure using a tiny camera.

She said: “If [the surgeon] does it [laparoscopically], there’s a nine percent chance that he doesn’t get all the cancer.

“So he’s got to do the C-section cut to get everything out. So that’s what we’re dealing with, and that’s what it’s got to be. And I know the recovery is, like, way worse.”

Snooki recently credited TikTok for helping her come to terms with her cancer diagnosis.

She told E! News: “When I got the diagnosis, I was like, ‘Oh my God. I’m dying. I can’t believe this is happening. I’m freaking out.

“I went to TikTok right away. There were so many videos of women saying, ‘I just got diagnosed,’ ‘I’m in remission,’ ‘I’m gonna be fine.’

“That made me feel so cozy and like I’m going to be OK,” she continued. “I’m like, why is no one talking about this?”

Snooki’s online discovery made her decide to document her treatment plan publicly.

She said: “I’m gonna go on TikTok and say what I’m going through.

“I feel like it was so relatable. We had a platform of women saying, ‘I’m going through the same thing. Thank you so much. I’m going to get a hysterectomy, let’s do it together.’ “

The Jersey Shore star recalled breaking the news of her diagnosis to her and husband Jionni LaValle’s three children, Lorenzo, 13, Giovanna, 11, and six-year-old Angelo.

She said: “I said that mommy has this and has to get surgery and I’m gonna be fine.

“But my oldest was like, ‘Are you going to heaven? Are you dying?’

“[He joked] ‘Are you gonna leave me something?’

“My kids are funny and my kids are amazing. They realised that mommy has to be healthy and needs to get through these surgeries and everything is gonna be OK.”
