Benny Blanco in ‘full-court press’ to start family with Selena Gomez

Benny Blanco is more than ready to start a family with Selena Gomez a year after their wedding.

Benny Blanco is ready to start a family with Selena Gomez.

The 38-year-old music producer, who married the Only Murders In The Building actress in September 2025, has admitted he’s “pressing” the idea after his wife shared an Instagram Story earlier this month showing herself with a newborn baby and her hopes that “one day” she’d have one of her own.

Appearing on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle, he said: “Yeah. I’m pressing it. I’m full-court press over here.”

In October 2025 Selena, 34, shared another post celebrating her role in Wizards of Waverly Place’s Disney+ revival sequel series Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.

Referencing her character, she wrote: “Alex Russo is a mommy. Hopefully one day that’ll be me.”

And in March this year, the couple had a joint interview in which they revealed they can’t wait to try and start a family.

Selena told the Jay Shetty Podcast: “I don’t know what will happen, obviously, but I love children.

“I love making [children] laugh; they’re just so sweet. So absolutely, when that day comes, I’m so excited for it.”

Benny noted that his wife will “immediately go to the kids and has these conversations for hours with the kids” whenever she has the chance.

He added: “When you started doing this you were a kid and that was your way to connect to people and I feel like you still feel like you have that obligation to connect with young kids.

“You shaped so many young people’s lives, whether it was Barney, Wizards [of Waverly Place]… you’re still finding your way to do that.”

Selena previously explained that she is unable to carry her children, which is something she has “had to grieve” over the years.

She told Vanity Fair: “I haven’t ever said this … but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children.

“I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while…”

Selena, who was diagnosed with lupus in 2015 and has bipolar, noted she is “in a much better place” with her situation.

She said: “I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.

“It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people.

“I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby.”
