Pop star Gracie Abrams has confessed she often steals her boyfriend Paul Mescal’s aftershave so she can still smell him when they are “apart”.

Gracie Abrams steals her boyfriend Paul Mescal’s aftershave so she can still smell him when they are “apart”.

The Hit the Wall singer, 26, has been dating the Normal People actor since 2024, and the pair now live together in London, but they are often separated because of their work schedules and Gracie has admitted she often grabs a bottle of his fragrance to take with her on her travels.

When asked to name one person she shares scents with, she told ELLE magazine: “My boyfriend for sure. I will steal his whenever we’re apart. Sometimes I’ll just take it.”

Gracie – who is the face of Chanel’s new fragrance Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu – went on to reveal she plans to wear the perfume on her next tour to help her remember her down time.

She explained: “The thing I’ve loved about this particular fragrance is that I haven’t been on tour since we shot this campaign.

“There’s a kind of synchronicity in embodying this character, whose qualities I personally admire so much, while also being in a ‘down period’ and not being on the road.

“That sort of triggered my imagination. It got me really excited thinking that when I use this fragrance on tour, it will immediately bring me back to that freedom, that self-confidence and agency.

“I’m very excited to get back on the road so I can implement this as a reminder of self.”

It comes after Gracie opened up about her new look and explained why she’s been cutting her hair shorter.

She has ditched her long hair and embraced a bob in recent years but she’s chopped her locks even shorter recently and now she’s admitted she’s embracing a more “low maintenance” look and she’s inspired by Hollywood actresses who sported crops back in the 1990s.

During an appearance on Vogue’s The Run Through podcast, she explained: “I feel like [my style is] simpler than ever, as I’ve been cutting my hair off and off and off.

“I’m just loving low maintenance. All of the screenshots in my phone of like fashion that I love is like, ChloĆ© Sevigny and like Winona [Ryder] and Gwyneth [Paltrow] and ’90s …”

Gracie also revealed she loves the work of Chanel’s creative director Matthieu Blazy – especially the handbags he’s been creating.

She said: “[I] must shout out, Matthieu … I mean, I’ve never seen like such a craze … I wonder how long I will get to [keep the bags]. I’m always like: ‘Will they take it back?’ I’m like, clutching it, like: ‘Do you guys want this back?’ …

“What I love about his bags at the moment as a tote person is that even the ones that don’t look that big can fit everything.”
