Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date pushed back to March 2028

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date has been pushed back to 8 March, 2028.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date has been pushed back.

The 56-year-old rapper is currently serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and, including time served since his arrest in September 2024, he was initially due for release in June 2028, but that date changed multiple times and last week, it was revealed he would be allowed home from FCI Fort Dix on 21 January 2028, replacing his most recent release date of 5 February that year.

However, amid a report from NBC News which alleged Diddy spends thousands of dollars a month getting fellow inmates to give him massages, as well as cook, clean and do his laundry, and has a contraband cellphone and alcohol smuggled into the prison, the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has now scheduled his release for 2 March 2028.

A BOP spokesperson said: “For privacy, safety and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including reasons for a change in release date.”

A representative for the I’ll Be Missing You hitmaker insisted they don’t know why his release date keeps changing.

The spokesperson said: “We are never given any explanation for how the BOP calculates or adjusts projected release dates, so we cannot speak to the reason for any change.

“Sean remains focused on serving his time, awaiting the decision on his appeal and looking forward to spending quality time with his family when he returns home.”

Following the publication of NBC News’ report, TMZ reported the Bad Boy Records founder was being moved back into the Special Housing Unit, which is more commonly known as solitary confinement.

Sources told the outlet this is typical procedure when prison officials are conducting an investigation into an inmate.

The NBC News report featured claims from four men who shared a unit with Combs at the prison. They suggested Combs paid one inmate to clean the toilet and shower areas before the star used them and he hired others to cook him special meals including pizza, curry and empanadas.

One of the men said: “This is not some normal s*** you see in jail. This is some rich s***. It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.”

Another added: “He’s a billionaire. People are in awe of him. Money is power, especially behind bars.”

They suggest he’s able to watch TV shows and films on a tablet which was smuggled in and scroll Instagram and receive messages via a cell phone.

NBC reports Combs spends “thousands of dollars a month to bring his lifestyle to the low-security prison” and suggests his associates on the outside help him by adding cash to the commissary accounts of the inmates performing services for him on the inside.

A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons told NBC they wouldn’t comment on the specific claims due to “privacy, safety and security reasons,” with the representative adding: “Like all correctional agencies, contraband, particularly cell phones, narcotics, and weapons, remains a constant challenge, and we continue to tackle the problem of contraband being introduced into our facilities.”

A spokesperson for the disgraced rapper played down the claims.

They said: “The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterises ordinary prison life as news.

“The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court’s decision on his appeal.”
