Ric Flair has revealed what’s next for him as he gets treatment following a brutal accident in Tampa.
Ric Flair has revealed he is facing “one more surgery” and a possible skin graft after falling outside a restaurant.
The 77-year-old WWE legend was outside a Wagamama in Tampa, Florida on Friday (23.10.26) when he fell and hit his head, and now he has given a promising update on his recovery.
Alongside a photo of himself with medical professionals, he wrote on X: “One more surgery and one more possible skin graft, and then I will be good to go!
“Thank you @USFHealth Eye Institute!”
His accident was initially reported by TMZ, who reported that he was walking across the street when he suddenly fell and cuts his head and eye.
In a post the following day, Flair smiled with a patch over his eye and tried to reassure his fans.
He wrote: “Thank you all for the messages and prayers. I will get back to you each individually as I get stronger.
“Thank you to all the Tampa General Hospital staff and doctors that put up with me until 4:30am. I appreciate you all and thank you for everything you did for me!
“I am focused on my healing and recovery right now. I will be okay!”
His daughter and fellow WWE superstar Charlotte Flair revealed her father had been in good spirits in the hospital.
She quipped: “Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of [Ultimate] Warrior dropping him on his head… (ps: he’s going to be ok)”.
Flair’s fall came hours after he was forced to pull out of a convention appearance due to a blood clot in his leg, with doctors limiting his travel to three to four hours.
Meanwhile, the 16-time world champion’s son-in-law Conrad Thompson – who is married to Flair’s daughter Megan – recently opened up about the star’s day to day life in Tampa.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “He has a great group of friends down there. And he’s got some great support down there.
“Shout out to Sandra, who I know has become a really valuable person in his life, and she’s helping taking care of Pop Pop, as I like to call him.”
Podcaster and mortgage broker Conrad noted that anyone who sees the retired star in public should expect to get “the guy you see on TV”.
He explained: “If you’re going to have some sort of public interaction with him, maybe you work at a favourite watering hole, part of the nightlife, a fancy restaurant.
“In downtown Tampa, you’re going to meet the guy you see on TV. You’re going to meet Ric Flair.
“Now he may not have a three-piece suit on, and he may not have a $15,000 robe on, but he’s going to have a Ric Flair Rolex on and some big shades, and he’s going to be sitting right in front of the TV, right at the bar, belly up to the bar, checking out what’s going on, on ESPN.”
