Law Roach saved Jennifer Hudson from a ‘fashion emergency’ at the 2026 World Cup final

Jennifer Hudson and Law Roach have revealed how the stylist saved the day after her World Cup final performance.

Law Roach had to help Jennifer Hudson find an ’emergency’ second outfit for the World Cup final.

The 45-year-old star performed at the 2026 final on July 19 in a stunning white custom Thom Browne suit, but the 48-year-old stylist had to leap into action on the day when one of her team “forgot her regular clothes” to change into afterwards.

Asked about the “biggest” flame he’s put out for a client, he told her on The Jennifer Hudson Show: “I gotta use you [as an example]. So at the World Cup, someone on Jen’s team — I’m not throwing anybody under the bus — but they forgot her regular clothes.

“She wanted to stay and watch the match, but she had on this beautiful custom Thom Browne [look] and it was not made to sit in, it was made to stand and sing in.”

Without much time, Law and his sister “ran to the gift shop” to find a solution.

He added: “Me and my sister ran to the gift shop, we bought a pair of leggings, an oversize T-shirt, I cut the T-shirt up and tied it on her, put on her little pumps and sent her off to sit.”

Jennifer explained that the difficulties with the outfit hadn’t come to light because she “never” sits down.

She said: “Jennifer is going to sing that note and I’ll be like, where’s the exit and I’m gone, so there’s no need for another outfit, but it was the World Cup.”

According to the Thom Browne label, the ensemble featured “a warm white silk crepe rope shoulder tailored jacket with navy silk piping detail, embroidered bugle bead red, white and blue armband with a satin laced back paired with a matching pencil skirt and corset”.

Law admitted he had the “best time” bringing the outfit together for her performance.

He said: “It was the most beautiful thing at the perfect time, like God sent the wind and these ribbons just started to flutter from her back and it was so perfect and so divine and so beautiful.”

Jennifer described working with the stylist as “a ceremony”, but Law insisted his focus is always on “the client”.

He said: “I may come in with the hair and I’m a diva and all that, but when I get there, and I’m doing my job, it’s all about the client.

“And [the World Cup] was such a big moment for you and I just wanted you to have the best experience and feel the most beautiful that I could help you feel.”
