Brenda Song was “traumatised” after using tweezers to pluck her eyebrows .
The actress has admitted she had to reshape her brows to play a trendy teenager in ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’, but she hated tweezing them and was relieved when microblading was introduced so she could fill her skinny brows out again using the semi-permanent make-up technique.
In a video posted on Merit Beauty’s TikTok page, she explained: “It traumatised me. When the trend came in the mid-2000s to micro-blade your brows, I did that.”
She also credited her make-up artist on ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ with helping her develop her skills and teach her how to create a more subtle look.
Brenda said: “Don’t tell 2003 me because she only liked to wear a smokey eye, a red lip, a block brow and a full face of contour. I’m slightly more subtle now.
“She [my former make-up artist] really taught me to pick one focal point of my make-up and stick with that.”
In the video, Brenda showed followers how to create her current make-up look using Merit products – she used The Minimalist concealer stick in Palomino, applying it under her eyes and on her cheeks, as well as Bronze Balm in Sein on her cheeks and forehead and Flush Balm in Cheeky before turning to her brows and lashes,
Brenda added of her Disney career: “Looking back on the Disney days, it was just so much fun.
“London Tipton [‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ character]was my absolutely dream character. I loved stepping into her shoes every single day. She had my dream closet. More was more.”
A video caption posted by Merit expanded on her make-up routine, adding: “Don’t tell 2003 @brendasong that her makeup routine now only takes five minutes.
“Brenda wears — Great Skin Instant Glow Serum Great Skin Priming Moisturizer, The Minimalist in Palomino Bronze Balm in Seine, Flush Balm in Cheeky Solo Shadow in Midcentury, Brow 1990 in Brown-Black, Clean Lash in Perfect Black, Signature Lip Liner in Coupe.”
