Zara Larsson wants people to feel “really sexy” when wearing her brand-new swimwear line.

The 28-year-old singer-songwriter has dropped her new collection, which features bikinis and one-piece swimwear styles – which come with four detachable charms – under her intimates brand Main Rose.

She told Vogue: “It just made 100 per cent sense.

“Summer at this point is a part of my personality and my brand – and swimwear is the ultimate summer staple.

“We had a fun time with the colours and patterns. I want people to feel really sexy – something they can wear to feel free, jump in the ocean, and have fun.”

Zara – who was born near Stockholm, Sweden – also told how the ocean is particularly close to her heart, so a swimwear collection felt a natural fit.

She added: “If I have a few days off, I will always for sure go to the water.

“Midnight Sun was my love [letter] to Swedish summers, where the sun just stays up. I love to be in Stockholm on my days off – and it’s surrounded by water.”

Zara dropped her fifth studio album, Midnight Sun, last September, and she is excited for fans to play her songs in the coming months, admitting she feels like “the Mariah Carey of summer”.

She said: “It will be the first time the album can actually exist in the summer, when people are hanging out with their friends or traveling.

“The playfulness of summer is so authentic to me, and I’m glad people are connecting with it.

Zara promoted her new swimwear line with a series of professional photos taken while she was swimming in the sea just outside Miami.

Last year, the Crush hitmaker told how she hasn’t ever suffered from body insecurities.

She explained to The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Biz on Sunday column: “I’ve always been very neutral towards my body and in my body.

“I think it’s because I come from a very naked family. And all my friends, we were always naked around each other.

“I used to go to ballet school, and we would stand in front of the mirror all day in tight little leotards and tights.

“My body doesn’t have to exist in the context of it being sexual or it having to look pretty.”
