Halle Berry has responded after Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach reference the star’s iconic look from the 2002 Die Another Day premiere.

The 60-year-old actress was delighted to find out the Spider-Man star had put her own twist on her memorable look, stepping out with a bob hairstyle and a similar silver dress for the Emmy Awards on Monday (14.09.26).
Halle first reacted with an animated heart as she reshared stylist Law Roach’s Instagram Stories post with side-by-side photos.
The Hollywood megastar then shared an interview with Law in which he confirmed Halle inspired Zendaya’s look at the event.
Heaping praise on the 30-year-old actress, she added: “She murdered the night.”
Law told Refinery29: “We are paying a little homage to Halle Berry tonight, you’ll see it.”
Halle stepped out at the 2002 Die Another Day screening in a sparkling, sheer Collette Dinnigan minidress as she rocked a pixie cut.
Zendaya recently debuted her own bob, while she was seen in a floor-length silver sequin Prada dress with sheer white detailing.
Meanwhile, Halle also reshared a clip of an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show in which she admitted she’d love to play the younger star’s mother in the future.
She said: “There is an actress I love with every fibre of my being. I love her and I would love to play her mother… [It’s] Zendaya. I can play her mom, right?!”
Back in 2021, Halle also hailed Zendaya as a “walking embodiment” of the way Black women’s success has shifted in Hollywood.
She told a panel at Sundance Film Festival: “At 24, that she can have an idea and go get it done and get enough support behind her to get that done and to give her the power and to keep the creativity, I think that says so much for where we have gotten and that is what makes me want to keep fighting, because of Zendaya, at 24, a Black woman can do that.
“[She] is proof positive that things are changing and I couldn’t be prouder and I know you probably can’t be prouder of yourself, which is most important. But it’s proof that it’s changing, for sure.”
And later in the same conversation, Zendaya said she feels fortunate as a young actress to have been able to work with creators that respect her voice.
She explained: “I’ve been lucky enough to work with men who have respected my power, and encouraged it, with that being Sam [Levinson] and obviously John [David Washington].
“I’ve been lucky to be in those experiences that are collaborative and open to what the world should be looking like. Had it not been for the women before me, I wouldn’t be in this position.”
